  • Cute Balloon Animal Eraser

Note about our Preschool Artist Box: we try to keep the projects similar to the Elementary Artist Box so that the younger members can do the projects alongside their older siblings. This way, the younger kids may not work on it as long as the older siblings or there may be some things we include to make it easier (like the outlines on the paper), but they can feel like they are a part of the process too. Your job is to guide, help, and encourage these young artists in a way that supports their artistic process and helps them see where to draw or place things. Happy creating!

  • paper mache paste
  • cup
  • spoon
  • pencil
  • 2 sheets of drawing paper (5×7 or bigger)
  • masking tape

Week 1: Plan and Make the Form

Shaping the form of the paper mache will likely be difficult for our younger friends, consider having them make an apple or orange instead of example project. Or, help them make the ice cream cone or favorite food (as you help along the way so they feel successful).
